Head Coach Craig Bergman

Head Coach & Offensive Coordinator Craig Bergman

Coach Bergman has guided the Varsity Football Team to two NCA Championships, two undefeated seasons, and two League titles during his 15 years coaching at Monte Vista. His goal for the Varsity squad this year is to “get better every day”. In addition to coaching football, Coach Bergman is also the Athletic Director at Monte Vista and a P.E. instructor. A former starting quarterback for Santa Clara University, one of Bergman’s favorite quotes is by Vince Lombardi—“The harder you work, the harder it is to surrender”. Coach Bergman and his wife, Patrice, have a son Brian (13), daughter Lindsay (11), and son Gavin (9). College: Coach Bergman majored in Economics.

Coach Chris Babcock

Coach Chris Babcock
Coach Babcock has enjoyed a 30 year friendship with Coach Bergman and is in his 15th year coaching at Monte Vista High School. He takes great pride in seeing the Mustangs of the past playing college football and loves it when the alumni come back to visit practice or attend games. He would like to see the team finish the Season strong this year. Coach Babcock is currently a Sales Estimator for American Asphalt and he and his wife, JoAnn, are enjoying their 8th year of marriage. One thing the team does not know about Coach Babcock: He has done color commentary for football and basketball on television!

Coach Ned Milin

Defensive Coordinator Ned Milin

Coach Milin is in his 10th year coaching at Monte Vista High School serving as the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach.  He says one of the highlights for him as a coach is watching the players mature from kids into young men and building relationships with them. One of his favorite quotes is, "Just play. Have fun. Enjoy the game.” – Michael Jordan.  Coach Milin and his wife Emily currently live in Alamo with their daughter's Charlotte, Chloe and Cora. He works at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney in Orinda providing wealth planning and advisory services.
One thing the team does not now about Coach Milin: He played linebacker on Coach Bergman's first team at MV. Also, he loves to cook; it is a hobby of his!

Coach Travis Bargeman

Wide Receivers/ Defensive Backs Coach Travis Bargeman

Entering his 5th year at Monte Vista, Coach Bargeman is excited to return as the Wide Receivers and Defensive Backs Coach.  His prior experience includes coaching the wide receivers at Santa Clara University.  Coach Bargeman also played at Santa Clara University from 1986-1989.  One of Coach Bargeman's favorite parts about coaching at Monte Vista is building relationships with his players and watching them progress each year.  His goal for this and every season is to be a better coach and teacher than the year before.  Coach Bargeman has been married for 16 years and lives in San Ramon with his wife Lisa and two sons, Trent (13) and Drew (11).

Coach David Rudberg

Asst. OL Coach David Rudberg

This is Coach Rudberg’s 3rd year coaching at Monte Vista. David will be coaching the offensive line. He graduated from Monte Vista in 2006 and played for Coach Bergman. David’s favorite part about coaching is the look of satisfaction on the players’ faces and the brotherhood that has developed after a long and hard fought  season. His favorite quote is "The most important thing... is not winning but taking part; the essential thing in life is not conquering but fighting well" -Pierre de Coubertin. David currently attends Saint Mary’s College in Moraga where he majors in sports management. One thing the team does not know about Coach Rudberg: He was born in Sweden and speaks fluent Swedish. 

Trainer Dustin Seibel

Trainer Dustin Seibel

This will be Dustin’s third year with the Monte Vista High Football team; he is also a therapist at Muir Orthopedic Specialists in San Ramon. In 2005, Dustin started his graduate work at CSU Sacramento in Athletic Training. The following year he began clinical work as an intern at Consumnes River Junior College in Sacramento. In 2007, Dustin moved to Tennessee to begin a Graduate Athletic Training Program in Health and Human Performance at the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga. His clinical work included two years of Division I-FCS College Football at UTC. He graduated in 2009 with a Master’s Degree in Health and Human Performance. Dustin is committed to giving his student athletes optimal care so they can compete at their highest level.

Coach Scott Regalia

DL Coach, Strength & Conditioning Scott Regalia

Coach Regalia is the Strength and Conditioning Coach for the three Monte Vista High School squads, in addition to serving as a Defensive Line Coach for the Varsity Team.  This is Coach Regalia's third year with the Monte Vista Football program.  Coach Regalia also serves as strength and conditioning intern for the San Jose State Football team. Previously, Scott was a Linebacker Coach for the San Ramon Valley T-Birds.  His personal athletic highlights include winning two National Titles in high school while playing at De LaSalle, and earning an All-Conference Honorable Mention while at Iowa Wesleyan College.  His personal football philosophy is to play for the man next to you! If you put in the proper work, the results will follow. His favorite quote is; “The only part that needs to be perfect is the effort." -Bob Ladouceur. 
 
One thing the team does not know about Coach Regalia: He is a dog lover and has a dog named Norman who now lives with his Mom.

Coach Chris Buchanan

Quarterback Coach Chris Buchanan

Coach Buchanan is a Quarterback Coach for the Varsity squad. He was previously head coach of the freshman squad. He also assists in coaching varsity baseball in the spring, and has coached freshman baseball, JV football, and freshman basketball at Monte Vista. Coach Buchanan enjoys working with great kids and helping them to develop. When asked for one goal for his team he responded, “I would like to see every kid increase their knowledge of the game while building upon their understanding of the importance of teamwork. One thing the team does not know about Coach Buchanan: He was Coach Bergman’s first quarterback.
