DL Dylan Dalton recovered a fumble for the Mustangs.
QB John Hooper lateraled to Peter Stanton who through a strike to Zach Cribb
Russell Milin took a kick off to midfield.
On 4th and 1 Scott Sherriffs powered his way for a 1st down.
Hooper tossed a timing pass to Cameron Bothwell in the corner of the end zone for a TD.
On Livermore's opening drive, DL Tanner Hibberd made a great stop, and LB Jake Clare pressured the QB into an incomplete, forcing a punt. Unfortunately MV fumbled the return on the MV 20 yard line and went on to score.
On MV's 1st possession, RB Zach Cribb had 2 nice runs of 15 yards each, and QB John Hooper completed a pass to WR Peter Stanton, with Jake Clare, Tanner Hibberd, Grant Martin, and Jack Kundred providing the blocking up front, but MV ended up turning the ball over on downs.
Hibberd and DL Jack Pate teamed up for a stop for no gain, DB Alex Brown made a nice tackle on a pitch-out, DB Victor Chase knocked the Livermore RB out of bounds up the left sideline, DL Ryan Hancock made a great tackle for a 4 yard loss, and DL Russell Milin made a stop for a 2 yard loss, but Livermore went for it on 4th down on the MV 15 yard line and ran it in for a score, making it 14 – 0.
LB Grant Martin received the kick off and returned it to the MV 36. Hooper lateraled to Stanton who through a strike to Cribb to the Livermore 41. Hooper connected with Tyler Watson for 10 yards, and connected again with Stanton up the middle for a 15 yard touchdown making it 14-7.
Jack McKee and Ryan Moskow tackled the Cowboy receiver on the Livermore 30 on the kick off. Hancock made a stop for 1 yard gain, and DB Dominic Turchet sacked the QB for a 5 yard loss on a blitz, leading to a Cowboy punt.
Hooper connected with TE Eric Dobberphul on a play action pass to the Livermore 37, but time ran out for the half before MV could score.
Milin received the kick off to the MV 25, Cribb had a pair of 20 yard runs,but penalties against MV stymied the drive.
On Livermore's next drive Moskow stopped the cowboy RB in the secondary, DL Jason Riegel made a great tackle for no gain, and DL Dylan Dalton recovered a fumble for the Mustangs on the MV 39.
Joseph Jennison threw a block freeing Cribb to run 44 yards up the left sideline to the Livermore 9, but the Mustangs could not get it in the end zone.
After MV missed the field goal attempt, the Cowboy QB ran 78 yards for a TD on a naked bootleg, making it 21-7.
Milin took the kick off to midfield on a nice return. On 4th and 1 Scott Sherriffs powered his way for a 1stst down on the Livermore 40. Hooper completed a long pass to Watson to put the ball on the Livermore 5 yard line, followed by a timing pass to Bothwell in the corner of the end zone for a TD. Cribb ran it in for a two point conversion making the score 21- 15.
MV's onside kick attempt failed, and Livermore went no where and was forced to punt, largely do to the efforts of Dalton who had a sack followed by not being fooled on a reverse and making a tackle for a five yard loss.
On the last play of the game, Livermore intercepted a Hail Mary attempt and ran it back for a TD to make the final score 27-15.
5th quarter:
QB Moskow passed to WR Chris Cranston for 15 yards.
RB Jesse Wenger ran for a TD, with the mysterious #70 moving the pile. He is not on my roster so if anyone reads this that knows his name, please forward it so he gets credit.
WR Chris Cranston made a nice catch.
DL Daniel Wilson made the stop on a sweep left.
DL Robbie Wilson put heavy pressure on on the Cowboy QB, leading to an interception by LB Sam Christensen.
The Mysterious # 70 broke up a play and made the tackle for a 10 yard loss.
Jordan “Jornado” Smith leveled the Cowboy receiver on a pass up he middle.
