About the Monte Vista 12th Man Fund
San Ramon Valley Unified School District high school athletics are "self-funded." In other words, the athletic programs do not receive funding for equipment, uniforms, transportation, officials, or most coaching stipends. As such, the programs, to a great extent, rely upon the monetary contributions and time participation of parents, alumni and friends to fund these important programs.
The Monte Vista 12th Man Fund was founded to support the Monte Vista High School Football program. What is The Monte Vista 12th Man Fund? The term “12th man” is commonly used to describe the fans in the stadium during a football game. Because football teams allow a maximum of eleven players per team on the playing field at a time, the term denotes the attempt of a team's fans to help their team. The Monte Vista 12th Man Fund serves a similar role – supporting the Monte Vista Football Program with financial assistance.
All student athletes, alumni and parents are automatically members of the Monte Vista 12th Man Fund. The organization conducts various fundraisers and social events to support the team financially and to encourage camaraderie among all the football athletes and their families. For example, through the efforts of the Monte Vista 12th Man Fund, the football team has been able to buy state of the art helmets, shoulder pads and jerseys and retain the services of a full time strength and conditioning coach and sports trainer. These efforts have helped to elevate the competitive level of the team and, most importantly, aid in improving the level of safety for our players.
Your donations are appreciated. They will go to help make the Monte Vista Football team even greater. Donations can be sent to the 12th man Fund.
